The Newton Camera Club's first online exhibit opened Monday, May 4th.This exhibit is a COVID-19 replacement for our annual May print show at Newton City Hall. The exhibit features photographs from 24 camera club members and most photographs in the exhibit are available to purchase directly from the photographer. To inquire about a piece or to make a purchase, please email our show coordinator, Amy Oppenheimer.
This online exhibit is just one of the many ways that the Newton Camera Club has continued operating in this time of social distancing. Unable to continue in-person meetings, the all-volunteer club leadership team switched immediately to Zoom meetings, only having to cancel one half of one program. While the club had to cancel the meal portion of our end-of-season banquet, we will be continuing with the lighthearted sharing of the club's annual photo Scavenger Hunt results via an online meeting. In fact, the Club is planning to add additional programming after the banquet to help keep members connected.
All of our regular meetings and events are open to the public and new members are welcome to join the Newton Camera Club at any time for a small annual membership fee. While non-members can attend Club meetings, only members may participate in competitions and shows. It is not necessary to live in Newton to become a Club member.
